The Website and The Gorgon Need Your Help
A grateful generation appeals to the Greatest Generation
June, 2005
This appeal is made to you in the hopes that you will share your experiences during the war years, so that all may know where the liberties and freedoms come from that we enjoy today. The intent of this website is to preserve and honor your sacrifice, and also celebrate your lives.
When sending in articles/pictures you may indicate if it is for The Gorgon or the website in general. If you prefer, I'll choose the appropriate place.
The following are only suggestions. Please feel free to share anything that you would like. Our website space is virtually limitless.
Men, what was life like onboard Euryale?
How did you typically spent your day in your job?
Where were you on VE or VJ Day?
What was the best/worst part of being at sea?
What challenges did you face?
What did you do on leave?
What were the catch-phrases of the day?
Ladies, what was life like stateside?
Were you a "Rosie the Riveter"?
What was rationing like?
What songs were you listening to?
How far did a nickel go?
Where were you on VE or VJ Day?
What challenges did you face without men?
How did you spend your Saturday nights?
You may even wish to share pictures:
If you email, try to send in the largest file size possible, without compromising the quality.
If you snailmail to me, I will return your originals to you at my expense.
If you'd like to respond to any of the above please visit the Story Board now.
